South Florida based photographer Ben Hicks' career has taken him around much of the globe and across the Americas. Whether shooting villages in
the South Pacific, surfers in Central America, maritime life in the far reaches of Canada or the most phenomenal penthouses on Miami Beach, Ben adds his stunning conceptual spin to everything he captures. An adventure boy at heart, Ben can be found surfing the oceans, kayaking the rivers, hiking the mountains or biking on the trails wherever he finds himself...generally with a loaded bag of camera gear in tow.
His commercial work includes entertainment, sports and architectural photography for various wire service, news outlets and design firms. His portraits of top-level athletes have won him acclaim in the areas of mountain biking, surfing, multi-sport, among others. An avid surfer, he has emerged as one of the few professional surf photographers out of Florida and enjoys the opportunity to get slammed by waves for hours on end when out shooting the pros.
His editorials have been published on almost every hurricane swell up and down the east coast of the US in recent years. When not shooting
commercially, he often works along side his fiance capturing professional underwater portraits with Tiny Bubbles Photography. They also have a
growing roster of portrait clients who enjoy their clean, bold and dramatic images combined with their accessible team shooting style.
Ben's background in fine art and design earned him fast acceleration in the advertising world during the early part of his career. When he
launched out on his own, he quickly found that his clients loved his photography just as much as his design work and his company grew.
