Choppernite 21 Halloween hairband nite

Stephanie in her rock attire.

This week I covered the 5th year anniversary of Choppernite in West Palm Beach, FL. The ride always carries a theme and the theme this year was Hairband nite, from the 80's music era. It always a great place to find the freaks! Run by the freakbike nation West Palm Chapter it attracted almost 250 riders this year. The images were shot for Metromix / Sun-Sentinel. You can view the gallery here.

Cold swell

This past week I got sick and it is never fun to sit around and not do anything. Well, mother nature made it a little nicer with some good waves. Here is a little sesh from the other morning out as I found Stevie Andrews schooling his elders while I was up on A1A shooting and getting booted from the median on private property! Aka standing on the side of the road at 8am and arguing with the security guard until he pulled out his little rent-a-cop radio for backup. It was 50 degrees at 8am. Thanks cold for Florida! Good ole Boca!

Rise Against!!

Thanks to one of the coolest producers that I have worked with, I was set up to cover Rise Against in Pompano Beach, FL with Alkaline Trio, Thrice and the Gaslight Anthem. You can view the gallery here at Sun-Sentinel / southflorida.metromix.com . I pulled some strings and got Steph in as well for one of her favorites... Alkaline Trio. Rise Against didnt disappoint. Another weird thing as well, ran into some kiddies from my hometown of Venice. They recognized me as I was dashing across the parking lot in the dark, must be I am getting a little higher status? Must be Venice knows who rocks the hardest.

Halcyon jets

Stephanie and I got a last minute call to shoot some interview and b-roll for a pilot to a reality tv show. It is based on a high profile private jet brokerage called Halcyon Jets. The fastest growing and leading the industry in quality and customer service were only two of there impressive aspects. We roamed the office for most of the afternoon shooting and trying to stay out of the way. They were all incredibly friendly and generous to shove a camera in their face for on the spot questions.

Food!

Ya, a little change from the usual as Stephanie and I shot some gourmet food for SuperLove Foods. It was a quick little pre-shoot that will be followed up later with a full shoot. We got to eat it after...the best part. This was shot with a Canon 1ds Mark 2 24-70L lens and a 580ex, 540ex, pocket wizards and a reflector.

This week we finally got some chop to surf. It wasnt much but great to get in the water. The weather is getting a little nicer and Florida is nice to be outside again. The other evening the light poked through the clouds on a full moon and was able to snap off a few in the small chop. The groms were out in hords!

Websites and Advertising

This past 2 weeks I have been busy launching and fixing bugs on a clients new website. I normally stick to the visual aspects of the world but since DC has been such a great client to work with over the years I agreed to take on the assignment. I created a special gallery based on the flash ap from bananalbum using some costme flash features in order to fit the specifications that we wanted for the site. The site is still in the building process but is online. I have also been working with Bike America on there fall advertising along with the launch of another new store.

Tiny Bubbles....Rain shoot

Jack......arrrrr!

This week Steph and I shot a family at the private residence in there pool on the water in Ft Lauderdale. They were a wonderful family to shoot and totally put up with the pouring rain that we endured throughout the shoot. Steph mostly shot this one while I made sure all the techinical elements were in order. Here are a few that I shot, while the final for the client will eventually be posted up on her site blog.

Gwar

Last night I was part of a blood bath. NO seriously, Gwar performed at Revolution and it was a game of duck and dodge to stay away from there spraying "blood" guns. From outrageous costumes to literally ripping apart John McCain it was one of the more interesting music assignments I have had. See more here.
