NASA Photo Shoot

A retired shuttle engine.

This week I was asked to shoot some images for the NASA viewing tower at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL with over 1.4 million visitors each year. I was assigned to create images at the closests viewing point a visitor can get to the shuttle. The 4 story tower has 360 degree views of NASA and in order to know what you are looking at, there will be 4ft wide images displaying which launch pad or build facility your are viewing. This is what I captured. They are 350 mb panoramic images for the North, East, South and West facing Towers. One of the more interesting assignments of 2009 so far!!

Riding in the trainer cart with Legend Joe Magrane

Roger Dean Stadium

This week I was fortunate enough to be able to help cover this very interesting Baseball camp put on by Heros for Hire and the St. Louis Cardinals. Campers get to play with legendary baseball players for 5 days and live the life a pro ball player. I am covering the event thanks to Willis Glascow ( www.wgsportsphotos.com) along with a couple other great shooters. Its been a blast so far! All the images can be seen online at www.wgsportsphotos.com. I will update again when after the event has ended.

Wednesday morning we charged it early to get some good light with the rising swell hitting our coast. Meeting up with Cheyne Cottrell, his buddy Will Tant, Matt Oberman, Wesley Desouza, and Tahitian Hira Teriinatoofa, we caught the quick swell window. On the beach it was about 40 degrees, which was not exactly was I am used to. It was a beutiful day! All images copyright © 2009 Ben Hicks

Alejandro Escovedo

Last night I shot Alejandro Escovedo for Metromix.com at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdal, Florida. It was a really mellow show with great vibes with lots of elbow room for me to work with. You can find them published here. Enjoy!
