Last week a few of the stars aligned and South Florida actually got good.  I headed up to search with Wes and Matt, meeting up with rest of the state of south fl to find some prestine conditions to shoot in.  I really wanted to shoot water but the currents just weren't right.  Two sessions throughout the day provided for some great shots not to mention shooting some of the best in Florida.  Here are a bunch and please no stealing the images with out contacting me first.  Thanks!

Cold Front day 1 Nov 08

This week South Florida had an arctic blast from the north sweep through the state to remind everyone how nice it is to always have nice weather year around.  Naturally the waves followed.  Here are a few I captured from a fairly unsuccessful morning hunt...

2008 Jupiter Fall Classic Pro-Am

Jamaican rooting each other on!
Ryan Helm
Tanner Strohmanger
Puerto Rico's Hector Santa Maria

In the un-lucky event that the 2 months of straight swell dying the day of the contest this weekend, I cant imagine the organizers were very pleased.  They ended up running the Longboard and womens on day one with shin high waves.  Day two, a cold front had passed and the event was spared to be just barely rideable for the Pro and Jr Pro.  I still was a bit under the weather and was blowing out odd looking things from my nose, so I left before the Pro event ended.  South Fl boys were doing well, although it was still only thigh high!

Grom evening sesh in Boca Raton, FL

Phone started ringing around 2pm to shoot some groms.  The sun poked through the clouds here and there to allow a few shots.  Brian Noel, Korak and Tommy were boosting some in the typical South Florida power chop.  Brian is about to head off to Hawaii next week, which is just not fair.  Heres a few from yesterday at Palmetto.  All shot with a Canon 1d Mark2, Canon 300 2.8L IS and 1.4x extender.  Tried a few speed blurs as the sun went down....

Secondhand Serenade and Cute is what we aim for.......

The Leach Adventure Race

On Sat Nov 8, 2008 I shot the Leach Adventure Race.  It consists of the Leach, which is a 6 hour race and Lil Bleeder, a 2 hour race.  In years past I have competed in it myself coming in second overall last year.  This year I sat on the sidelines with my cameras and shot it.  Look for the images in an upcoming issue of South Florida Adventures Magazine.

Juno Pier swell and Arrest!

Wednesday morning I headed up to Juno Pier to shoot and maybe catch a few myself.  Arrived at about 7am for some good morning light and shot for a while until the tide got pretty high.  Went in exchanged my camera for a board and was paddling out when a fisherman and a the whole lineup got into a little quarrel.  Long story short...from my understanding the fisherman was shark fishing with his line directly into the lineup, which was illegal.  One of the surfers then snapped the line.  The fisherman, on the end of the pier, then proceeded to throw out a sinker weight, striking an off duty West Palm Beach Police officer.  The cops were called, sides were heard and the fisherman was escorted away, supposedly arrested....

Miami Botanical Gardens Wedding

This past weekend I was invited to shoot a wedding with collegue of mine.  While the weather just barely cleared up in time for the ceremony, it was such a close call.  We ended up staying dry and finding some good light.  Heres a few from my perspective...
